Oladapo Oyebode received a Ocean Frontier Institute Community Climate Adaptation Fund grant of $30,000 as Co-Principal Investigator for a research project titled: Crowdsourced Intelligence: Gamified Citizen Science and AI Integration for Community Climate Adaptation on Nova Scotia’s Eastern Shore. Rural communities along the Eastern Shore face rising sea levels, intensifying storms and degrading habitats alongside limited connectivity and economic constraint. This one-year project (spanning September 2025 to August 2026) develops a support and advisory platform for citizen scientists by integrating AI, evidence-based persuasive techniques (including gamification, recognition, social norms, and tailored feedback), and a participatory design approach.
