MooAnalytica Student Wins People’s Choice and 2nd Prize at Dalhousie 3MT

MCS student Sibi Chakravarthy Parivendan, supervised by Suresh Neethirajan, won the People’s Choice Award and Overall 2nd Prize at Dalhousie’s 2026 Three Minute Thesis competition for his presentation on Farmbook, an AI system for understanding social bonds in dairy cattle.
Thirteen finalists competed at Dalhousie’s 2026 Three Minute Thesis finals on March 31, 2026, representing graduate researchers from across the university and, for the first time, an undergraduate honours student in a wildcard category. Sibi Chakravarthy Parivendan’s presentation, “Farmbook,” described an AI system that tracks social bonds between cows to detect hidden illness and support better farm decision-making. His presentation connected animal welfare, AI, and practical farming in a way that resonated with both the judging panel and audience. He received Overall 2nd Prize and was the sole winner of the People’s Choice Award. Sibi is an MCS student in Dalhousie’s Faculty of Computer Science and a member of the MooAnalytica group supervised by Prof. Neethirajan.
