Industry Collaboration: Advanced Spacecraft Detection on Low Power Compute Unit in Space

DAMLR has launched a new industry collaboration with Obruta Space Solution through a $240,000 Mitacs Accelerate agreement. The project focuses on advancing Obruta’s spacecraft 6D pose detection pipeline so that it can run efficiently on low-power compute units in space.

Over the next two years, the collaboration will support 2 PhD students and 3 MSc students, providing hands-on training at the intersection of computer vision, AI, and space systems. This partnership strengthens DAMLR’s ties with industry while creating real-world impact for autonomous spacecraft technologies.
