Frank Rudzicz named Killam Memorial Chair in AI and Health
Frank Rudzicz, Director of the Atlantic AI Institute (A2I2) and Professor of Computer Science at Dalhousie University, has been appointed a Killam Memorial Chair. The honour is reserved for researchers at the very top of their fields and recognizes Frank’s leadership in applied artificial intelligence and health.
As Killam Memorial Chair, Frank is spearheading the development of a new, people-centred AI research hub based at Dalhousie and embedded in Nova Scotia’s health and innovation ecosystem. The Chair supports work that combines cutting-edge machine learning with clinical partnerships, health operations, and public policy to improve care for patients and communities.
For A2I2, the Chair is a cornerstone: it anchors a long-term vision to make Atlantic Canada a global leader in AI that is safe, equitable, and deeply connected to real-world impact. It will help attract top students and collaborators, accelerate new projects with our health and industry partners, and create new opportunities for trainees who want to work at the interface of AI and health.
Stay tuned for more on how the Killam Memorial Chair will shape A2I2’s research, training, and partnerships in the years ahead.
