Gabriel Spadon De Souza
About
Dr. Spadon is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Computer Science, contributing to the Big Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning research cluster. He earned his PhD and MSc in Computer Science from the University of São Paulo (São Carlos, Brazil). His research advances spatiotemporal modeling, complex network mining, and time-series forecasting. His work integrates data science, data engineering, and geoinformatics to address challenges arising from dynamic, data-rich environments. He aims to develop analytical frameworks that support predictive modeling and decision-making in domains where spatial, temporal, and relational complexity intersect.
Note to prospective students
Prospective students who are motivated to work at the intersection of data science, machine learning, and spatiotemporal analytics are welcome to reach out. Research interest that blends methodological development with real-world applications are particularly valuable, especially in areas such as mobility, environmental intelligence, maritime analytics, and complex systems. Strong programming ability, a commitment to rigorous experimentation, and an eagerness to engage with open scientific questions are important qualities. Students are encouraged to contact me with a brief overview of their academic background, research interests, and relevant experience so we can determine whether there is a suitable fit.
